About the role
As a Video Algorithms Intern, you will join the Video Algorithm team for a 3-month summer internship. You will work alongside the team to improve video quality by combining machine learning models with traditional signal processing approaches. The primary objective is to curate a content database and develop production-ready machine learning models to enhance non-pristine input content prior to the encoding pipeline.
What you'll do
Develop machine-learning-based models to improve the quality of encoded video in formats including AV1, HEVC, and H.264.
Curate a content database to support the development of production-ready machine learning models.
Apply machine learning techniques to enhance input content before it enters the encoding pipeline.
Collaborate with the team to integrate machine learning models with traditional signal processing methods.
What you'll need
Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, with an expected graduation date of December 2026, Summer 2027, or later.
Must be returning to school for at least one semester or quarter following the internship.
Strong software development skills, including familiarity with version control, testing, and code review practices.
Proven track record in machine learning, video algorithms, video coding research, or related fields such as computer vision or video quality.
Solid understanding of machine learning and deep learning concepts, with hands-on experience in training and evaluating models.
